Relational Warmth

It’s with great pleasure that I invite you to discover the upcoming group show at Emerald Gallery titled "Relational Warmth".

This exhibition will host a diverse collection of art that embodies the spirit of warmth, welcome, and the anticipation of a new beginning.

We are thrilled to have a guest curator for this exhibition, the wonderful portrait artist George Groves has joined team Emerald to start our year in style.

The show aims to capture the relation artists have to portray elements of warmth in their work, and ultimately capture that in their art. As we prepare to step into the new year, we aim to bring the community together through the feeling of warmth, and create an atmosphere of comfort, hope, and unity.

The prominent theme of “Warmth" is open to interpretation and allows each artist a wide

range of artistic expression. It's an opportunity to discover each artist’s vision of what warmth means as we step into 2024.

These are just three of the incredibly talented dozen that will be exhibiting in our upcoming group show! See what our curator George has to say about each of them.

Valentina Gonzalez - I first met Valentina in 2022, where I immediately fell in love with her work, and subsequently purchased an original piece.

Urbanism, geometric drawing and topographic maps are at the forefront of Valentina’s work, and as a professional Architect, it’s clear to see the correlation in her practice. Hailing from Spain, there is also an underlying Mediterranean theme in some of Valentina’s work, and I find myself coming back to each piece with admiration.

Michael Restrick - I was introduced to the work of Michael through my friend Josie, and have been in awe ever since. The way he balances colour, form, and aesthetic is just magnificent. It makes me think of an uber-stylish 70's

Set Design in Hollywood on a Summer’s Day, and I hope to be adding a work or two of Michael’s to my collection sooner rather than later.

Josie Clouting - After meeting Josie here at Emerald Frames a fair few years ago now, I’ve had the great joy of watching her on her artistic journey, and progression in the art world. What I admire most about Josie is that she truly immerses herself in the landscapes she captures, putting herself directly in front, or within her subject. I will be following Josie’s work for years to come.

Relational Warmth Opens on Saturday the 27th of January and is open Tuesday to Saturday 9-5 until Saturday the 24th of February.

We look forward to welcoming you.
